Roll it...roll it...roll it!
Sam has become obsessed with Patty Cake. Ob. Sessed.
Initially he would just start his rolling arm motion when I would begin the song. Now he doesn't need me to initiate the Patty Cake. He has been walking around the house "rollin' it" for days. It's cute, it is. But see, when he starts to roll it he wants me to sing the song. And if it takes me too long to get to the "roll it" part he screams. And if I pass the "roll it" part and for instance, "pat it," he screams. And if I stop singing he screams. And if I try and sing another song, even one with hand movements, well, he screams.
Marking it with a 'B' is ok. Sometimes, if I'm lucky, marking it with a 'B' is an acceptable substitution for rolling. But then this baker better get my ass in gear and roll it again.

So very cute!
Kaelen is like that but with the "If you're Happy and you know It ..." song. HOWEVER - it can only be the Barney version. Any other way is no good and he will ensure that you are corrected accordingly.
Kids. You gotta love them. :)
LOL! I tried to teach Bugaboo, Patty Cake, turns out he is deeply offended by it. He refuses to pat he puts his hands on his hips and glares at me instead when I try to sing it.
That is too cute!
Ha! It's so funny the things they get hooked on!
How's the book coming?
Cute! My baby is like that with "This little piggy" and is always ripping off her sock and sticking her sweaty little food in my face with the command "Piggy!". Adorable at 2 in the afternoon; less so at 2 a.m.
We had a phase like that, except it was "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes". Yeah, that didn't get old quick.
That's a stitch (cuz it's not me). Hope the phase passes soon, for your sake. But you'd better video tape it cuz you'd be surprised how fleeting some of these things can be (and how long-winded as well...).
They love the repetition, don't they? Looks like you'll be rolling for awhile! The one that kills me is when Jack gets into the neverending "Mama" loop.
Mama?
Yes Jack?
Mama?
What honey?
Mama?
Okay, Jack, tell Mama what you want.
Mama?
Help me please.
That's funny. Is it supposed to be funny? Cause that's funny.
A hasn't started doing that yet. She likes us to sing 'Old MacDonald' if she's crying in the car. And if we stop singing she'll start crying again. It's the only song that seems to work. Coldplay doesn't do the trick. Which is too bad cause we rock the Coldplay!
We live in a parallel universe, I swear. Although for us it's guitar music. Daddy must play guitar music all. the. time. Poor guy.
Tom doesn't even say hi when Mike walks through the door. He just starts making the sign for music, and if Mike doesn't hop to quickly enough, Tom starts THE SCREAM.
Ugh.
*giggle*
Just wait until you get to the bumble bee song. Prepare to sqoosh up baby bumble bees for at least an hour at a time.
Repetition, it's a killer to us mommies (but so essential for the little ones). You think at first, oh, that's so cute. But by the 1000th time you're thinking, oh, please somebody, shoot me now.
